Two highly recommended new albums

Thought I would share a couple picks I have been listening to quite a bit of late...

Great Lake Swimmers- Ongiara

This album gets better with every listen, the songs which at first seem simple reveal more complexity upon further listening.  It also has an almost hypnotic beauty and very slow building dynamics that are quite powerful on some tunes.  Check this out if you like Alt-Country or Folk music.

Vampire Weekend- Self Titled

This album is really fun to listen to, great use of different sounds even though Ivy League boys probably shouldn't be trying to make pseudo-reggae on a regular basis they pull it off here in spots. Recording is surprisingly good and there is enough variety in the songs to merit continued listening despite it's alt-pop orientation.

I have been listening to Vampire Weekend for months on Rhapsody...definitely fun times.  :thumb:
