Audio signal transmission methods?
« on: 26 Feb 2008, 10:33 pm »
I need to transmit analog audio signals over a distance of 20 or 30 feet, and I'm looking for advice regarding how best to do it. Running cables through walls is not an option in my situation, so I have been looking into using non-metallic surface-mounted cable raceways. But the only kind I've found are mounted using adhesive, which I don't like. If you know of a source of non-metallic raceways that are screwed onto the wall and are not too much of a pain to install I'd love to hear about it.

I've also thought of using a wireless link for this purpose, but I don't know much about these. Would that be a good way to go? If so, do you have any specific products to recommend?

I'll be grateful for any advice.

I just screwed the adhesive ones to the wall without removing the backing to the adhesive surface.

That's certainly an option, but I worry about the degradation of that stuff over time, possibly leaving gunk on the wall.
