HD radio WOW!

Purchase a daily commuter vehicle since I didnt want to drive my sports car in the winter months.  The stock radio on the Toyota Corolla was crappy so I contacted Crutchfield and purchase a JVC HDR1 and new Alpine speakers.  Total purchase was $270 not bad!  Well, after spending almost an entire day on getting this system installed by myself and since I am a perfectionist it took a while, lol!

WOW, what a difference between Analog radio and HD radio.  I really dont want to listen to Analog AGAIN EVER!  The difference is like night and day, the clarity, definition, the sound is just amazing.  All and the best part is that the channels are FREE!!!! aa :thumb:

"HD" radio (which BTW DOES NOT stand for "high definition") may sound good in the car but it is no substritiute sonically for a good analog signal into a decent analog tuner even in a mid-fi home audio system.

The "HD" stands for hybrid digital.

My opinion on this subject as with many others who dabbled with HD radio is directly the opposite to yours. But who cares. The important thing is that YOU are happy with your purchase. Enjoy.

Correctamundo! I used to work in the radio industry...believe me, the whole thing stinks to high heaven (and I ain't even talking about the sound "quality"). Luckily, it is tanking on the open market, so perhaps it'll all go away soon...unless they can buy more influence in Congress and piggyback onto the satellite radio merger.
