The unit is as advertised we can assure you of that. The seller is the original owner. There is about a year left on the transferable warranty.
6N1P upgrade would cost $300 and also includes a new three year parts and labor warranty. Work involved is pulling the main mother board for significant parts value changes, rewiring the line section heater supply for 6 volt operation. Adding tons of heat sink (20 watts worth) to the positive low voltage regulator to be reliable with the 600 mA per tube requirements, and replace the cover with a full vented one for long term reliable operaiton. And of course a new set of 6N1P line tubes.

Musically it is absolutely worth it.
The unit advertised does have the optional phono circuits. A new replacement would cost $1398.00. That one, with the 6N1P upgrade done, and a new warranty, would set you back $1199. Kind of a $200 savings. All you loose is the AVA satisfaction guarantee. Note that adding remote to a used one costs $400 as it is a lot more work than when done as an original installation.
Would I price a used one lower? Well maybe, and then again maybe not. If we sold it used, it would also have our normal 30 day satisfaction guarantee too.
Not too bad a deal I think.
