Hopefully they will "reanimate" your system.

I bought the "La Cacanya's"  :)  Now if I can win the auction on Agon for your Firefly SE's, and a couple of other auctions, I'm gonna burn 'em all in and do a comparison to my Zu Varials and post here.  The Varials are very good and at $500 for a meter, have easily bettered AQ Sky's at $2K+.  A "bang for your buck" IC comparison might be of interest to some folks.

Didn't you just post that your twisted magnet wire w/ Eichmann's are your best cable?  If not, where do you rank your inventory currently?

They are...to a point.  They sound somewhat "hard" in the midrange on certain cds.  I'm now breaking them in more to see if that goes away.  Dynamically and bottom to top tonal balance is pretty darn good, with a good soundstage.  If I had to like with one interconnect at this point in time, it would have to be the Varial.  As it gets farther into it's break in period, it has opened up quite a bit.  Still missing some of the openess and extension of the magnet wire, but overall tonal balance is just a tad better on all cds.  Until a cable has alot of time on it, it will change in character, though usually only slightly after the first 50 hrs or so.

"We use pure silver in LA CACANYA CABLES. No exotic mixtures of gold or other metals. These formulas are marketing hype and do not improve the sonics of the cables."

I disagree with their statement.

I have tried a pure silver litz braid similar to theirs (it wasn't shielded, though) and its performance dint even come close to my Siltech G5.

I havent compared with the Zu (those are generally cheap and good performing).

I've used 5 or 6 different types of silver for building interconnects in past few years and they all sound different to my ears. Also; just because the silver is more pure, doesn't mean it will sound better.

I had white zombie cables for a few years...they are a pretty good value.
Now I have Grover's Sc which was an improvement (in my system) over the zombies, at a higher price of course.

Cool, bid away on those babies! How do you like those new Eichmann plug bodies? I think they look great.  Oh, and I like the Zu Varials, darn good cable. :thumb:

I agree, John...the Eichmanns are great connectors.   Very light weight, minimal metal and probably the best ground contact approach on the planet.  I'm still planning on placing more bids on the Firefly SE, but I just ordered the new DH Labs Red Wave powercord (got a great deal as a potential dealer, that I couldn't pass up) so I need to watch the funds for a few days.  I have a powercord and interconnect comparison on the agenda, so I want to get as many samples as I can to add to the mix.  The Varials just keep getting better and better with each day of listening/break-in.
