Just wanted to let everybody know that the CS2's will be going up to $3500 a pair in the standard black fabric.

The CS2w Auxillary Base Generators will now cost $1995 a pair in the standard black fabric.

You can now order your CS2's or CS2w's with blue, red, or cream fabric for an additional cost of $200 a pair.

When ordering a different fabric choice, you can opt for the standard silver base or go with a black base at no additional cost.

The price increase is in effect starting March 15th, 2008, so get your orders in before March 15th to take advantage of the current pricing.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Here is a picture showing black, cream, and blue fabric choices:

Here are the CS2's in a red fabric:

Pete,

The supplemental bass modules use the last 2 channels of the 6 channels available from the DCX crossover, to drive another 2 amp channels.  For standard CS2's, only the LF and HF channels of the DCX are used.  The CS2 LF section is already 4 ohm impedance, so connecting another pair of woofers per side, at least in parallel to CS2's from the same amp, would yield a nominal 2 ohms load.  I don't know if there is actually a change in curves or gain settings for existing LF and the supplemental LF channels when using the additional modules, so George or Clayton may be able to comment on that.  They do not extend the bass response, however, just adding bass "impact" to the existing panels.

In my case I had convinced myself upfront that I would be adding those modules at some point, but never felt the need for it once I had them in my own room (24x13x8).  YMMV

Hmmm.  802D's, CS2's, or a tri-amped external xover DEQX'd pair of HT3's??  Decisions, decisions.

I would cross the 802D's off the list.

Since I owned the HT3's for a few years and have the CS2's, I feel that both of these speakers will not only outperform the B&W's, but also cost substantially less!

I believe the 802D's list price is in the ballpark of $14k these days...ouch!!

I've been a long term B&W customer for years, they are very successful and have a broad product range - at a price  :o.  All 3 pairs now sold. I do think we're fortunate on this forum having access to speakers such as the CS2's and HT3's, and consider these offer infinitely better value.

Just a reminder that you have less than a week to get a pair of CS2's at $2999 before the price increases to $3500/pair on March 15th.
