Are these Peavey amps any good?

I have been told because my speakers are 87 dB sensitivity I shouldn't use a low power SET amp.  And I don't want to spend a fortune.

I don't know anything about the brand other than I think they are pro amps and they have a fan.  I would save my money and pick something else.  I'd set a budget and time frame, start researching amps in your range and watch Agon for the amp or two you like.

Yep, that's a pro amp all right, if you have a band and want to play in large places.  I wouldn't give it much creedence as a stereo component.  A friend of mine a long time ago had such a setup, (A Peavey in fact).  Sounded like a guitar amp (all mid-range, no bass, no soundstage), and that is what I would expect from this amp in a home stereo system.  Did have a lot of power though.
