FS Aikido 9-pin stereo preamp kit ** Sold **
« on: 15 Feb 2008, 04:11 pm »
This is exactly the same as the 9-pin stereo kit sold on the Glassware Audio site:  It uses a 6cg7 in the gain position and a 6dj8/6922/6h30 in the output position (at least that's what the included components are spec'ed for -- other tube types are entirely possible with component changes.  It comes with a pair of new production EH 6cg7s and a pair of JJ Tesla 6922s -- this gives a gain of 20 dB with an output impedance of 275 ohms (with a 200 volt B+).

Here's what's included *(and what's not):

New Aikido kit that includes everything needed to populate
the PCB:
— One Aikido 9-pin stereo PCB (4" by 10")
— Four new tubes -- 2 6cg7, 2 6922
— Two 0.47µF, 500V, 10% paper-in-oil coupling capacitors
— Two high-quality polypropylene-film coupling capacitors
— Four electrolytic capacitors for heater bypassing
— All the resistors (5% 1W carbon-film
Eight sets of PCB stand-offs and screws and O-rings
— Two supporting power-supply capacitors (0.68µF, 400V, Wima, polypropylene-film)
— Four ceramic PCB-mount tube sockets
— One rotary output-capacitor selector switch
— Super strong double sided tape to hold coupling capacitors in place
— 12-Page instruction booklet
The 6CG7/E88CC tube set offers the lowest output impedance. All that is needed to finish the entire line stage is a chassis, power supply, volume and input selector controls, and a handful of RCA jacks and hookup wire.

The kit is as I got it -- never opened it.  $100, shipping in lower 48 included and no paypal fees.

I recently bought the 24 volt Aikido board, and already have a pair of mono octal boards, so I have one preamp too many, so this is the one that is going.

Thanks for looking,

Jim

George,

I got your email and PM, replied to your email, but it bounced.

There are two other guys in line ahead of you trying to decide if the kit is right for them.  If those both fall through, the kit is yours.

Sale pending.

George, I tried again to send you an email, and again it bounced, but I wanted to let you know that there are two definite buyers ahead of you, so pretty unlikely that you'll get it.

Thanks anyway,

Jim

Jim, fair enough.  Thanks.  It looks like I still have to figure out the email problem    .
