Please tell us more Willie.  It looks like a very nice build once again but I have to admit I was expecting another 845.  :D

That Oswall Mill site has it all, real nice, down to the nitty gritty of big time sound !

A little background on "Lil Sister". I built the same amp about 4 years ago on the same type chassis with a little
different long transformer cover. From the outside both amps would look the same the Mahogany stain Tung Oil
finished ends, Gold painted chasssis and Black Transformer cover and center mounted meter.

On this one I used Electra-Print Autoformers instead of Edcor 10K/10K interstages both case I used a cap to take
out the DC before the interstage. For now this amp has Hammond 125E OPT's, which sounds pretty good. But I plan
to replace those with E.P. OPT's.

Lil' Sister fired right up first time I applied power to her, which is a good feeling right off  Right now Lil' Sister can
    run 45's or 2A3's and can run 5U4's, 5Y3's, 5AR4, 274 rectifers.  She's running a hot Class A right now, but I
intend to dail her in to run "Deep" in Class A.

The person I sold the first "Sister" amp to upgraded the Edcors to E.P. Interstages and the Wurlitzer OPT's to
E.P. OPT's, to make it into a "Locomotive" type amp ( refinded sounding).

Anyway that where she is. I wanted to take pictures to document to growth of this amp. I found it was much
easier to do a second time. Gotta invite a few of you over to the dungeon for some samplin soon.

      Have fun!

I'm still lovin' that amp Willie.  I'll never part with it because it sounds great and it's so unique.  It's so damn cool (figuratively ).

It's always interesting to see what you're up to; thanks for the good photos.  :thumb:

Nice job Willie (as always)  :thumb:

One of these days, I need to get that circuit from you. If I ever get some spare time, I'd sure like to build more stuff.

Any time Scott, remind me and I'll send you a schematic.

  Yo Henry
Good to hear from you. I was also great to see pictures of Big Sister too. I had forgot what she looks
   like.

So what are you drivin with the the lady? I'm always amazed at what pp45's can do.

Also I can't remember if your amp has the 6amp 2.5volt filament trannies for running 2A3's ?

  Have fun!

Hi Willie,
I usually drive a pair of Horn Shoppe Horns, but have used it with SEAS coaxial transmission lines speakers that are ~90dB efficient with good results.  The only other change I've made to the amp is that I replaced the 4.7uF input caps with Mundorf silver/oil.  I tried a few brands such as Jupiter and Auricap; I like what the Mundorfs because they're smooth and produce a little more bass.

From what I recall, the 2.5v filament power is provided by the Wurlitzer power transformer, so I don't think I have the ability to switch tube types.  After buying four TJ's, I'm committed to the 45 anyway. :D
