I just read on the Stereophile website that Minnesota based male vocal group Cantus has just released their new CD, "Deep River." This one features African-American style themes and songs, and is an exploration of/lesson on African-American musical influences. The interesting thing is that engineer John Atkinson (ed of Stereophile) recorded the album in the Great Hall of the Washington Pavilion. Not a concert performance, although they did perform here, the album's sound is a bit larger to accomodate the themes it portrays here.
Really wish I'd have seen 'em last time. If they return I definately won't miss them again!
