I'm just curous why Odyssey equipment, as well as other brands, have a wider faceplate than the rest of the chassis.  Is it aesthetics or does it have a purpose?  It just makes it difficult to fit in small spaces.

It's audio jewlery...it looks pretty cool and has it's heritage in the overbuilt German tradition.
