Curious if anyone has heard/bought this classic on Gold CD, and if it's worth buying if if you already have the plain old CD?
Still sounds as fresh today as it did almost 40 years ago  :o

I'm waiting for Abraxas which they list as coming soon.  It's got a couple of my favorite Santana tracks on it.

Thanks, the scary part is it only seems like yesterday that it came out - I can't believe it was 69.

MoFi/MFSL is a top notch remastering company, and one of the best one's out there. About 90% of my music is from them, and sadly, there's not many other "masters" I own. I do however, have some original 80's stuff, LZ, Steely Dan, etc. and the Candian release of "The Wall". I can't afford the going rate's for "The Wall" from MFSL, so the Candian version is second best.

If you choose MFSL, I can guarantee you, you won't be disappointed.

I bought the MoFi UltraDisk Gold CD version of Santana's "Abraxas" some years back and it's really good.

In January, I picked their 180gm half-speed mastered limited edition vinyl release of "Santana" (the first album with the impressionist lion on the cover) and it's also a brilliant pressing.  I've also ordered the 180gm half-speed mastered limited edition vinyl release of "Abraxas" which should be here in late Feb/early Mar and I'm keen to compare this vinyl release with the original Gold CD version - it should be an interesting exercise...

I have 1 MoFi gold disc, Frank Zappa's "We're Only In It For The Money",  and I think that was well worth the investment.

The MoFi Ultradisc Gold re-issue of Abraxas was disappointing, imo.
Guess I'm just spoiled having heard the original group several times at the Fillmore East.
As the late Bill Graham would proclaim on stage in his introduction to the band,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the joyous sound of Santana!".
Something got lost in the transfer, or it just wasn't there on the original tapes, imo.
