Opinions: KRK RP-5 Rokit + PC
« on: 26 Jan 2008, 09:01 pm »
hi,

i'm close to buying a used pair of krk rp-5 active monitors.  my pc has an onboard realtek ALC889A chip for audio.

i'd like to keep it simple with as few components as necessary.

should i do something different?  i would think controlling the volume with my pc might be an issue.  what do you think i should do?

thanks in advance for any and all replies.

peace...

Save your money and buy something better. I owned a pair of the RP5's and thought they sounded lousy. They are fine if you just need sound, but I wouldn't recommend them for any kind of serious listening. In that price range I would suggest looking at the Yamaha HS50M's or the Blue Sky EVO 2.1 setup. They are both decent cheap powered speakers.
