Big elecrical spike

How do I fix this? When I turn off my bathroom fan, a huge-ass pop goes through my home theater system. I replaced the switch but it still sounds like a .22 rifle shot. I have a large Monster Cable ac surge protector but it doesn't stop it. I called them and they say the unit is not designed to stop spikes.

Sounds like the audio system is on the same circuit as the fan.  Do you have another AC circuit in the room that could be used to power the system?

No, unfortunately I don't.

You might try and demo a Price-Wheeler Brick Wall surge supressor.  The PW2RAUD is a high current version that should run an entire audio system, without mechancial hum from the inductor.  The other unit would be a ZeroSurge equivalent.
