EM7 - tailoring the highpass inputs
« on: 20 Jan 2008, 10:51 pm »
The EM7 comes through with a cap on the 2nd (or 1st however you look at it) set of inputs, which highpasses 100Hz on up.
Is there a way to determine what other value caps can be used to alter the highpass point?

The input-load resistor is 150K-Ohms.  Using the standard hi-pass-filter formula of F = 159155/RC, where F = Filter (-3dB) Point in Hz, R = resistance in Ohms, and C = capacitance in microFarads, the existing calculation is F = 159155/(0.01*150,000), = 106Hz.

Plug any values for C you want in the formula and Bingo! you have a new number.

Jeffrey,

Thanks for helping out on the questions while I dig myself out of all these tubes for which I am developing new applications. I am leaving no reasonable stone unturned.
