I'm looking at some of the jd1000's There are a few different models. Two versions of the 1000a's and the new 1000rc.
Anyone know if there are differences, particularly between the 1000a's? One has gold knobs and slots on the front, the other has silver knobs, and I think is a little older. Curious about how these sound. Seems like the model with gold knobs had a good review by AvGuide/Absolute Sound.

I believe the gold knobs are the older version, the silver knobs are newer. The RC adds remote control and the chassis design is different with a tube window for gazing lovingly at your tubes.

Jolida gear is pretty nice and I've always had fun with the pieces that I've owned. I have a Level 1 modified JD1000A, full chrome faceplate and it sounds fantastic. I've heard the RC and its subjective but I thought that they sounded the same. Perhaps the L1 upgrade is what changes internally on the new JD1000RC, who knows. Good luck.

hey, I saw your add. You still selling it? I may be making a trip to Baltimore soon. I've been looking at a lot of integrateds in the price range. Does this one have pre outs for use with a sub?

I've had the Jolida jd-1000a for maybe 5 years .  This is a nicely designed and enjoyable push-pull El-34 amp.  I've never had the urge to pass it on as the basic sound carries a lot of power and gives a  full tonal weight to the instruments and voices.

It has enough juice to put out big orchestral works, for example.  It's been a reliable unit and it works well with a variety of speakers.  Solid.

Yes, but that wasn't the intent of the post.

You are more than welcome to stop by for some good food and a demo of that or whatever else I have in the rig(s). I'll have to get back to you on that pre-out feature as I have no idea and didn't need it.

Hey Flatmap, nice amp...do you have a pic? I'm wondering where we sit in the lineage of that series. What's the faceplate look like? Do you know where we are?

Try sending Bill at Response Audio a PM.  He is a dealer and has modded Jolida products too.  I have found Bill to be very helpful.

hi guys, thanks for the responses.

Dorokusai, thanks for the offer, I'll definitely have to let you know if I'm up that way. My friends are in the Canton area, It looks like you're maybe 20-30 mins away? Maybe I can get my GR research OB7's together quickly and bring them up. I think Jolida is also local to the area, I'm wondering if they would add a sub out if it doesn't have one, I'll have to give them a ring.

Hello guys,
Maybe I can shed some light on the Jolida 1000RC. All the versions are the same in regard to the circuitry. The original version had the all chrome face plate with no remote. The new RC has the glass window and remote volume, variable (subwoofer/preamp) and fixed (tape) output but still has the same basic circuitry. The newest version also has the EZ-Bias.
The model with the slots in teh face is the same as the original but with a different, updated face plate.

Jolida can add a subwoofer output on the older version as long as they are not too busy at the time you go in. You may want to give them a heads up call first.

Using this amp to drive the OB-7's will be no problem. In fact these speakers should relly love the power of the JD1000. The JD1000 has a powerful, yet seductive EL34 presentation.
My OB-7 Deluxe speakers should be up and running very soon but I do not have a JD1000. I have every other Jolida tube amp up and running but no 1000. A really nice amp but never a big seller for us so I don't even have a modified version on the floor.
