They haven't been released yet, so the only info you'll get is from Emotiva.

I heard there was audioholic showing in october...
was anyone there?  If so, any comments are appreciated...

Yes, it's not released yet, but I'd be interested in any thoughts.  Seems like it's a burning deal and well, we'll see i guess.
Thanks

Twin subs, lot's of power and room correction for 1k? Sounds like a helluva deal to me. Hopefully someone gets their hands on the setup for a review when it comes out.

I was kind of disappointed that despite being a twin sub setup, it was only designed for a mono signal.  It's a single channel amp and the room correction is single channel too - a post on their forum says it has stereo inputs and sums the signals.

Is this true???
If so, you are right..why have two separate subs but a combined "mono" signal???
Seems to defeat the purpose and well, placing each sub by the mains would be disadvantageous if this is true...
Thanks for that insight!

Sure...most subs will have a L / R input, now the thing is, most processors/preamps only have one sub out, that's the "mono" signal you're talking about.  However, if you have a preamp (for music) with 2 sets of outputs, one set can go to the main amps and the other set can go to two separate subs, one L and one R.  That way, you have independent L/R subs and can place them next to your main speakers for better separation and integration with your main speakers...

I've heard the Emotiva dual sub system and I was impressed.  I spent a fair time listening to it at the Audioholics demo with both movies and music.  The system seems very tight, well controlled and not boomy at all.  This is despite putting out enough SPL to fill a good size demo room without any hint of exertion or over-extension.  Like I said, I spent a fair time listening to the system and I placed an order by the end of the day.  I'm still waiting patiently for delivery.

I'm new here so...about me.  I have no affiliation with Emotiva and do not currently own any of their products.  However, I do currently have an SVS PB12-Plus and a Hsu STF-3.  I liked the demo of the Emotiva enough to give it a try at home.  BTW, the bookshelf speakers are very good as well.  Fortunately, I have no need for new speakers or I would buy those as well.

Dave, thanks for the feedback...
I too put in an order and am awaiting as they will probably ship out at the end of the quarter or April time frame....

I was just curious of only having a mono signal, which for me, I'd prefer each sub placed next to the mains and each outputting the same signal as the mains (L and R) and be independent of one another...

Well, I'll have to see....

Thanks!

 Sonny:

When I ran an M&K system I used two 12" subs. Their signal was fed through an M&K crossover gizmo and it was mono. Talk about deep and powerful bass!!! It was a WOW!

i am an emotiva guy so i thought i would post this thread in their forum to let it get kicked around a little. i was kinda interested in hearing what people thought about the whole 2 sub stereo/mono debate. the last comment is from lonnie the head engineer over there and i thought was sort of interesting. of course what side of the fence you fall on probably depends on what sub system is in your living room right now...

Perhaps Lonnie is right, however, having a room that is 55ft long, i can tell you that in my current system, I can sense the direction and originality of the bass note pretty well, now, the other reason is I do think the mind is able to distinguish the bass note originality below 100hz, so, these dual subs will really cross higher than 50 to the mains, therefore, confusing MY mind a bit on the note's originality...or localization.  my 0.02 cents....
