My Modified DCM's sound DAMN GOOD now after my last tweak I did to them. I put concrete on the front of the speaker drivers...mids and bass drives. I used Quikrete concrete crack seal from Home Depot. I took the drivers out and lightly coated each driver with this stuff and let it dry for 24 hours. I'm not looking for any more speakers now!..........

It's good you plan on keeping them for a while. I suspect resale value will suffer :duh:. Unless you sell to a local buyer who can hear the improvement :notworthy:.

Wow, that reviewer sure has lots of nice words available.  Glad he seemed objective.

I agree with their content value concept, but:

Why is the crossover mounted inside the cabinet where is exposed to the highest vibrations possible?

Lots of details missing, like the type of bass cabinet design used (which only affects the bottom 3+ octaves).

Why are diamond drivers better?  I don't recall from my pre-engineering courses that diamond has the highest Young's modulus (stress to deflection ratio)  yield strength to weight ratio, etc., (but this is decades later, very high-tech, and a highly specialized application).

BTW my $1600 (single driver) speakers have better binding posts, solder, and crossovers (none) and go deeper.  As soon as we get the taxes done, my Behringer DEQ2496 is going to Endler Audio for mods.  Then it will serve as my DAC, DEQ, baffle step compensation, and zobel circuit so the monoblocks can be wired directly to the drivers (that have their own wire clamps).

I like how there's a big SP Tech logo at the top of the review.

I think it's probably meant to be Quickcrete.

i have no problem at all with someone who is very enthusiastic ( even over and over again) and can stand criticism and provide links which do NOT fail his statements

you better share too much than too less
and me too when i was young many years ago fell for the marketing of Bose and bought the 900
even Harry Pearson in his beginning days listened to the Bose 900 and felt frustrated
believing the hype of that moment

people who then thought themselves to be audiophiles ( far away from Bose) bought the expensive AR 3 boxes ( Acoustic Research) wow
we didn't know better and there was not so much better in the shops except horns and i dont like the sound of them

Sorry....its Quikrete concrete crack seal.... I used this stuff to fill some cracks in my concrete floor.  You DO NOT put a LOT of concrete on the speaker driver's speaker cones....just put a thin coating of concrete on each midrange and bass drivers.

HiFiSoundGuy, even for you that's a pretty strange thing to do. A thin coating of quickcrete on the drivers? I can't fathom how that could do anything to improve the sound. I'm tempted to ask you to post photos except for the fact that when ever anyone does you always give the stock answer " Sorry..no way to post pictures right now".
Sorry buddy, but whenever I read one of your posts I get this vision of some sorry unemployed, and unemployable, young man living with his parents, sitting in a bedroom with a computer and a boombox and no life indulging in a sad fantasy world.
It would be easy to prove me wrong though, if you could post some pictures and even let us know where you live. Maybe another member is close by and can stop and give your system a listen. You'd gain some credibility by doing so because right now you have zero, on this or any of the other many forums you post on.
And for those of you who think we're being hard on the guy try doing a Google search for HiFiSoundGuy and maybe you'll get an idea as to why.
