Someone's going to get a good deal:

http://buy.audiogon.com/cgia/cls.pl?preatube&1204735359

(Judging from the ventilated case this is the 6N1P version.)

Great price! Interestingly enough, it looks like the seller traded in an Ultra EC to pick up the T8.

I noticed that too, that is interesting.

It does have the cover made for the 6N1P tube modification. It is loaded with phono inputs, tape buffer and remote.....That's a hell-of-a deal.

Yes, it is a current 6N1P equipped Transcendence Eight preamp, and the sale offer appears to be very authentic.

If we had the unit here selling it used, we would ask about 75% of new price ($1300 to $1400) with a new three year factory parts and labor warranty on an essentially new product.

The asking price of $1000 for this unit is unusually low.  The owner must really want to get rid of it.  We often know the audiophiles want to get out of their old equipment in the worst way, and often do.  :)

Want a T8?  Nab this unit off right now! The T8 is a very special unit, the buyer will wonder why the seller parted with it.

Note that the remainder of the three year factory warranty passes on to the used buyer (one time).

I, too, thought $1100 was a steal for this preamp.  I can imagine selling a year-old unit it for, oh, maybe $1400.  But $1200? like this guy wants?  That's truly a basement price!

I mean, I never thought I'd see this new an AVA T8 going for only $1300 on Audiogon.

I bought a small chassis T8 off gongos for $800, in the spring of last year if memory serves.  Maybe you could get $700 for it?

If you like your little T8 (it's pretty sweet), I think you'll really appreciate the newer unit's dynamics and soundstage...

Dang it, I gotta learn to be faster on the trigger!  Oh well, back to soldering new parts into a PAS-2 for me.
