What effects the lushness/richness of sound?

I think Satfrat is way overly enthusiastic with the Bybees and overspent his money unnecessarily, but I also think Audioengr's gone overboard everytime he calls the Bybees "inexpensive Band aids".  Seems to me that by despectively calling them like such he wants to draw attention to his "non inexpensive" way of doing things.  That "sibilance" pitcch of his is starting to sound to me like Bush's "weapons of mass destruction" pitch!   I have heard Lak's (upgraded) Dodson 217 DAC ($4.5K) and it includes a Bybee filter.  I don't think Mr. Dodson would resort to such an "inexpensive Band-aid" in his world class product. :nono:

BTW, my system has no sssssibilance

I always wondered what "snip" meant? Thanks to Marbles, I now know. (the hard way) PA, I don`t believe I`ve overdone the Bybee thing. In fact, I don`t think it CAN be overdone. But as with Audioengr, everyone`s entitled to their opinion. Regards, Robin

Inexpensive band aides?  They aren't cheap!  Don't care for what they do to signal, but like them on AC Mains especially with digital sources mixed in with analog sources.......Sounds like the original poster should move the speakers around a bit and closer to the walls if they want more warmth.....
