A few years ago I started on the seemingly never ending upgrade path and purchased a beat up pair of Meadowlark Audio Kestrel Hot Rods. They pretty much changed my outlook on what is needed for satisfying sound. Since then I have owned Meadowlark Shearwater HRs and the newer Kestrel 2s. Both of those models are gone but the original Kestrel HRs are still with me; in a closet not connected to an amp but still with me. It's a sentimental thing, plus because of the cosmetic condition, their sonic value far outweighs their monetary value.
