Posting here because of the  Ben Fong-Torres connection to Rolling Stone. Received the Rolling Stone Cover to Cover 40 year issue archive on DVD for Christmas from my wife. Between the ads for old stereo equipment, articles by Len Feldman, Ben Fong-Torres, Dave Marsh, Greil Marcus, Robert Palmer and many others this set, besides being a compendium of popular and political culture of the last 40 years and a way for many of us to relive our lost youth ,should be read by anyone who wants to understand where current publications like Tone Audio and Playback magazine came from.

It was a very fun read and a definite keeper.  Having Ben on our staff is truly an honor
because he grew up with it all and was right in the middle of it!

I've already heard some great stories!

And Playback is really funny.  They just try to copy us.  Last year at
CES they were running around telling everyone that PDF magazines didn't work
and that I was an idiot for trying to publish TONE as a PDF and not on the
news stand....

But I guess I should be flattered that The Absolute Sound is trying
so hard to copy what we do.
