Australian Tube Amps??

Hi,
Was hoping if someone can recommend an Australian made tube amp that will sound just as good or even better (and less $$) to the imported stables ie: Cary, BAT. I 'm currently using an Ayre V3 to feed a pair of Platinum Solos (sensitivity: 84db/m). I used to have the Micrex amp as well but they have either changed their name or being bought over by another company. I live in Sydney and did some search of various sites and could not find anything.

Supratek in western Australia is said to be very good..Don't know about prices. http://www.supratek.biz/preamp.htm

Last i saw Micrex is part of the Sonique loudspeaker group.I tried finding someone in Sydney who carried them but none of the Sonique dealers did.

Thanks for the inputs so far. The Supratek amps looks very similar in construction to the Micrex amps I used to own

The Micrex P-1 (100 watt Power Amp) was not full tube though rather a hybrid valve/Mosfet design.
