Hey Guys,

I'm helping out a friend who is no longer using his system.  He's my best friend and I am very familiar with the gear.  Selling because he moved from a large house into a smaller condo (with relatively thin walls) and can no longer use his HT system.  These were purchased new for a HT system in a house with no children, by non-smokers.  They are in great condition both functionally and cosmetically, but I'll say 8/10 just to play it safe.  He lives in Indianapolis but will be visiting my house in Chicago during Christmas if you want to pick them.  I don't have boxes and would prefer not to ship.  I also may have some inexpensive speaker stands (if I can find them!) that I'll throw in for free.

Paradigm Atom V2 speakers in black and Paradigm Center Channel (I think it's the 150 version).  They work perfectly and were lightly used in a HT system.  $130 for the both speakers and center channel.  ($80 for the speakers and $50 for the center).

Adire Audio Rava Subwoofer in Oak Veneer - This is a great sealed subwoofer with a 12" woofer (Rava), made in the days when Adire made really good products.  I believe this was made in the US.  It is very heavy and there is no box so this will be a pickup (Indianapolis or Chicago). This is a great subwoofer, you will not find a better subwoofer for this price.  I am hoping someone buys it because I'm afraid I might:  $250

Outlaw Audio 1050 6.1 HT Receiver - Like everything else, this one is in great shape and it works perfectly.  Has original remote but no box or manual (you can get the manual on line at Outlawaudio).  Great receiver for the money:  $250

Please note, I do not have any boxes and can't ship anything, but I'm hoping to sell locally.  He also has a nice 51" Sony HDTV, RPT in perfect condition.  I don't have the model number but it's the same model I have in my basement HT and is about two years old.  I understand everyone is moving to flat panel LCD's and plasma TV's but this a 1080i (720p) model and has a great picture, it's also on casters so it is easy to move around.  Perfect TV for your kid's HT system (or yours) or for a gaming system because it has an additional set of jacks that drop down from a panel on the front.  I need to check on the price for this but I'm pretty sure someone in the Indianapolis area could get an insanely good deal.

PM me or email me at JFGIUFFRE@aol.com and I can send pictures and answer any questions.

Thanks,

Jack

The television is a SONY GRAND WEGA KDP-51WS550 51 in. HDTV with built-in tuner so you only need an antenna to get an HD feed.  I understand RPT's are no longer in vogue but if you have the room and are looking for a great deal on a really nice TV, and you live in the Indianapolis area, you could get this one for under $400.  It weighs 175 lbs so you might want to bring along a couple friends to transport it.

Here are some specifications I cut and pasted from Sony:

BUMP - Lower prices on speakers and sub.  I can probably ship the speakers if anyone is interested.  Also, the sub and speakers can be picked up in Chicago or Indy.  I would be happy to demonstrate everything to anyone who comes by to check them out.

These speakers, center channel and subwoofer make a nice inexpensive system.  I am very familiar with these speakers (and the receiver) and can vouch for the condition.  I'm guessing the Outlaw and Paradigm speakers would sell pretty fast on Ebay but I'm guessing the stuff will have to be shipped (and I am to lazy to round up boxes).  Thanks for looking!

Subwoofer sold to Tom.  I still have to post pictures for the people who have emailed.  I'm really busy at work and hope to get it done tonight.  Haven't had much time for any fun stuff like guitar playing and music listening.

Actually, my system is not connected at the moment as my wife and were painting the basement.  We finished yesterday!  Is it just me or does a good coat of paint (along with some strategically placed spackle) make a room look like you spent much more than you did?  We painted the stairway to the basement a light green/tan-ish color and the basement is now a beautiful "waffle" color.  For about $150 in paint, the room is transformed.  Looks like I just misdirected my own thread but what the heck...

Cheers,

J

Thats hilarious.

We painted our house in May before we moved in.  Amazing what white ceilings, oak floors and color does to rooms that were formally monotone offwhite with 15 year old carpet.

Hope you guys are well.

My wife (and the rest of her family) are hopelessly addicted to room painting.  Six months of the same color is too much for them.  I, on the other hand, grew up in a home that we just sold last year-with the same hallway wallpaper from the fifties and living room/dining room/kitchen from the seventies.

I think painting can have very unfortunate consquences.  All of a sudden she notices the carpet is dingy, the furniture is a little tattered, etc.  Eats into the high-fi equipment budget bigtime.

Hey Dean and Thump,

True dat!  Just kidding...It's kind've strange how some paint and a little work can make a room look and feel different.  I'm not sure if I can live with this color long-term because I may go with something a bit more soothing but it's a real improvement over the previous paint.  The former owner painted the basement with this flat, cheap paint that soaked up the light.  The new paint is a lot brighter and really changes the feel of the room.

We installed some Pergo floors (I'm not going to go too crazy on the basement floor), painted the bathroom and got rid of some of the nasty gold fixtures.  I am thinking of moving into the basement and letting my wife have the rest of the house.  I've got my system down here, a big TV (my old RPT Sony but it's HD), a comfy sectional couch and my own bathroom and shower.  Combined with the smart new paint-job, things are looking good in my new lair.   :D

Need to hook up the system later tonight and git rid of some of the paint supplies that are still in the middle of the floor but it was worth the effort.  Especially when you consider my wife did 90% of the work!

Cheers,

J
