Now back to the topic at hand......
I wonder....if those with their Mini's will be curious enough to seek out the next step up....the TP's ?
Hmmm... That'd be an interesting comparison. What do
you think, Chris?
10Hz or more deeper bass, meaning the presentation is even fuller and more complete vs. a potentially greater 'disappearing act' due to the smaller front baffle.
I'd say it's all about sonic wants and desires (as always), and the order of one's priorities.
Personally, I love the Timepieces... but for those with very small rooms (and I mean
VERY small), I can see a scenario wherein the Mini could be the be all/end all of speakers, assuming they meet the aforementioned wants and desires. No one speaker or speaker manufacturer is for everyone.
Toss in a little room treatment, get an Infra-Wave sub... wow. Talk about a mind-bending experience!

From earlier-
Even I'm curious....better - or same - compared to my older TP's....
Time will tell......
I can't tell you how anxious I am for you to hear it! I don't believe you've heard the 2.1s, so you're in for quite a shock, my friend!

Fact is, even if you've heard the 2.1s, the 3.0 will represent a significant leap in performance. All the same goodness is there, but it's so much more refined, smoother in the right places, but still as fast and immediate as was ever the case. Really, really good stuff.
Are you having Bob retrofit your front baffle with a waveguide designed for the new tweeter? If not, I recommend considering it. In order to maximize the potential, the tweeter must be surrounded by a waveguide purpose-built for it. Otherwise you might hear the slightest bit of honkiness at certain frequencies. That was/is sometimes a problem with my 'old' 2.0s, but not with my 2.1s. However, I did hear it a little with Steve's twice (thrice... or more?) upgraded Revelations. He has the new tweeter and crossover, but his waveguides haven't been changed since upgrading to the 'new' tweeter. Even so, we were all awe-struck (again, for me) by what we heard.
Would you ever have room for the Revelation Grand Master, Chris? A shorter, probably wider and deeper version of the current model sporting two 10" woofers per side. I think Bob is hoping it'll go flat to 20Hz, anechoic. -3dB down point... I'm not sure... 17Hz? With the T-line, it'll only drop 12dB/octave. After hearing the 'standard' Mundorf crossover in the Revs, I can't imagine this beast with the full Monty.
Shoot, I'm having trouble imagining what Karsten's hearing, or what Ted's going to hear with his full Monty Revelations!

OK... I'm tired, drugged-up and rambling... stoned (at least it's all prescription-based)... I'm finished now.
