This guy cracks me up.

His system looks nice though and I wouldn't mind hearing it. People like that however get on my nerves to say the least.

The most analog sounding CD player on the market" :absolutely ridiculous! we listened to this player side by side with a modified pioneer 563a ($500) and the choice was more than easy as to which sounded more musical and analog (and it sure wasn't the opus). he has some nice equipment, in his genre, but i'd hardly call it the best in the world, ever. it never fails to amuse me how many people have the best of the best... at least he's happy.

Hey!

Exactly! If that make him happy than let him have fun and enjoy his World Best System.

There are some people out there that spend so much time and money on these stuffs and still not happy. So, if what he got there now make him enjoy the music and forget about the system while listening to music than that's great!

Of course if he is smart and wise he would still keep his ears open for new experiences and things to come his way.

Well, I think I will go back to listening to my music on my "World Best Stereo System" Damn! My turntable sounds just like analog!

I bet the system does sound really good but what is throwing everybody off is his conceded attitude about it. Maybe we should be jealous as he has found the end of his path and now enjoying what he has?

But seriously, I've heard those Quads sound great with a lot of amps!

That's why I've pretty much left the Steve Hoffman forum. There's about
ten guys over there that have "the best" whatever and if you don't have
it than it's so unfortunate for you...

There's so many different flavors, I can't imagine calling anything the
best. My old boss, Harry Pearson always used to say "substitute
the F-word every time you want to say "the best" and if it still sounds
good, leave it in!

Well I'm personally glad that perfection has been reached by someone. Now we at least know the boundaries of what's possible. With playback licked now we just have to tackle the problems of best band, best recording, best performance and best song! Then you could have the Best Satisfaction and Best Happiness, ever!

That gentleman's system does not define the ultimate audio experience. I know because I live near the person who has the best anywhere. Just ask him, he will tell you.
