Setting up SP2 with B&W speakers
« on: 12 Dec 2007, 12:23 am »
Hi guys,

So excited - home renovation is near completed and AV gear is now out and wired up.

We have a SP2, 6BSST, 4BSST coupled with B&W speakers - 804s, HTM3S, 705s, ASW750.

Would love some advise on how best to set the SP2 for this setup in respect to speaker settings - eg, size, crossovers, etc.

Please please please help :)

Cheers,

Julie

Julie:

A good starting point would probably be to set all of your speakers to
"small", and set the crossover at 40 or 50. I don't have an SP-2 so
there may be some new options for the crossover that I don't know about.
When you listen to your Pioneer DVD in bypass mode, your 804's should
get the entire signal (no crossover) so you can compare against the
sound when the SP-2 is doing the processing. You might be able to get
away with setting your 804s to large and the remaining speakers to
small. You really need to try it. I've always had problems with getting
my sub-woofer to integrate over the years so I usually set all of
my speakers to large, and set the subwoofer crossover to 120hz.
Now that I have IB1's for LCR setting all of my speakers to large is no
longer a problem.
