Heads up, price increases on the way

You could look at this as bad news, or you could interpret it as good news that you can save some $$$ by acting now.  aa  We'll soon be raising prices. Frankly, we should probably be doing at least 20% increase or better across the board to catch up. However, I don't think it will be this much, and we'll probably spread it out over time.

Why?

The following are increases on our costs that we've either already tried to absorb or increases that are yet coming:

- Inbound shipping costs have gone WAY up in the last year and look to continue that upward climb.
- UPS shipping prices are going up approx. 5% across the board on Jan 1, and this is the second increase we've had without raising prices.
- Cabinets and parts costs have been edging up for several years. Driver costs have gone up as much as 30% in the last 18 months alone. . .

So, now is a GREAT time to not only take advantage of 07 prices, but the current Holiday Sale.  If you snooze, you lose!  :duh:

From the message above it appears there will be a 5% increase on 1/1/08

Mike
Looking at the website looks like prices already increased. Will they go up even more?
Thanks

Prices on the web site are what they have been for a long time now.  It's more than the Christmas special but it's the normal (non-special) price prior to the increase.

* I appreciate the input. I've edited my original post to hopefully be a bit clearer.

* Note, the original post contains info on how our COSTS have already gone up or will be going up. We have made a few small price adjustments in the last year, but they haven't come close to keeping up with our increased costs.

* We have NOT yet determined which prices will need to be raised, or by how much. Frankly, IF we raised everything 20% across the board it probably wouldn't catch us up. HOWEVER, right now we are working the spreadsheets and trying to evaluate our exact course of action.

* We do not have a specific date for increases. Individual product prices will be adjusted upwards as we complete the process of working with the data. Yes, some of these price increases will be taking place in the next couple of weeks.

* As Bryan said, the Holiday Sale is a separate issue. It should be noted that some of those products are now in very short supply and will soon be removed from the Holiday Sale list.

Thanks!

I already knew the Holiday special was  seperate pricing.  I just noticed a small price increase in October after RMAF.
I wasn't sure if that was the price increase. Thanks for clarifying.
