The new $1500 digital xover from Emerald Physics will be better than a stock Behringer, but no way any where near as good sonically as a super modded Behringer.  The new Emerald Physics xover will have unbalanced outs and look more professional.  Emerald Physics will also be selling the Tachyon streamer ($5000+) and the Dolby Lake Processor ($7500) as options too.  However, I don't think they will have super simple pure input/output stages, 32 bit DACs, latest 24 bit ADCs, Superclocks, Blackgates, hardwired short signal path, tweaked with 30 years of experience, etc.......in fact, I know they won't.

I am anxiously awaiting the first modded unit from Ric.  I am confident that it will sound awesome since I already have a pair of his 100M amps driving the highs on my CS2 speakers.  My system sounds incredible, even with the stock DCX 2496.  I will post some feedback on the forum after I have received my modded X-over.

Check out the links added above (last page actually), describing the use of better AKM DACs.  Mind blowing!!!
