Hi
I have been very happy with my Belden digital cable and for the few bucks I paid for it (with Canare connectors), it surely sounds better than many expensive digital cables that I have tried. A few evenings ago, I wondered how my "old" pair of Audio Note AN-V interconnect cables might sound if I used them for digital connection between my SB3 and Altmann DAC. Curiosity led to experimentation!
How did it sound? Spectacular! Certainly trampled thrashed my humble Beldens by a wide margin. Vocals in particular stood out, projecting the singer as centrepiece rather than part of musical milieu. Treble and high frequency was sparkling, and bass was surprisingly deep and tight! In all, a definite improvement!
My internet forays of the AN-V as digital cable surprisingly revealed that many audiophiles have actually used Audio Note's analogue cables as digital links, with great success. In fact, my AN-V is the lowest in the Audio Note silver hierarchy, with the AN-Vx and the ultimate Sogon above it. One Audio Note site even declares that the AN-V can be used in both the analogue and digital domain!!
I wonder if anyone has tried Audio Note interconnects as digital cables, and what that experience was like!
Best Regards
Dennis
