Well? What should I check out? (what was recorded well to get me the feel of Iggy Pop?)

Side note, what do people think of The Boss's new one Magic, recording wise, it seems so deeply layered I have no been able to sit down through it long enough to figure it out (working on new amplifier, current one cuts out after a bit in one channel).

I would recommend their first, "The Stooges". There is a "Deluxe Edition" which contains a remastered version of the original release, although the original release on CD was pretty good. "Lust For Life" is his best solo, as the band is Bowie's (pre) Tin Machine. "Raw Power" is great music, but even the remastered version is not what I would call "well recorded", and may likely sound better in your car than your home system. But still enjoyable. Iggy is great. I saw him in concert at the Windsor(?) Ice Arena back in 71? (72?). The band was in rare form as the drummer (I think, or was it the bass player? can't recall exactly, those days are growing hazier and hazier) and guitar player got into a fist fight on stage. And a good time was had by all ...
