Question about new IA-7 V2
« on: 19 Nov 2007, 02:04 am »
I'm from Hong Kong and really interested in new IA-7 V2. It give me a shocking performance at this price!

The new version IA-7 with 4 RCA inputs but without "booster off". If I use it as a pure preamp (config 4th RCA input as preout) and without connect to speakers, will it cause any problem at no load condition?

Can I just simply disconnect the cables from power supply to V2 boards to perform the "booster off" function?

The reason why I use it as a preamp because I have both passive and active speakers in my home.

Please don't open the unit and mess with it.  The preout allows you to use the IA-7 V2 to drive another amp for bi-amping. But you should have the speaker connected at all time.
You should not use it as a pure preamp.
Our P-8 is a very good entry level preamp (IA-7V2 preamp circuit comes from P-8).

Thanks Jason!

In my case, I think old version (with booster off) is more suitable as I can use it as a pure preamp .

Does the old version still available in silver colour?

No, the older version is only available in black.  You can try to locate a used silver IA-7 and send in for upgrade to V2.

Jason, unfortunately there's no ditribution of NuForce in my country, should i send you the amps? Or you just send me the modul of V2 and i'll setup them by myself. And how about the guarantee after my amp have been upgraded?

Email salesteam to resolve the upgrade issue if you have no distributor in your country. We honor the warranty no matter where you are.  The upgraded parts have new warranty.
