Drum Music--Holy Friggin Crap--Absolutely Fantastic

Olatunji, Drums Of Passion, on Columbia/Legacy!!!!  Picked it up as a lark, but boy oh boy, what a monster recording.  Talk about boogie in your butt-ass.  This is a remastering of a 1960 recording billed as the first "World Music" record.  The guy/group is outta Nigeria, very anthropological, very tribal, very alive.  My neighbors came running, the dog stood on two legs and wiggled her ass until she was exhausted.  Great liner notes that help explain the meaning/theme and relationship between musicians/dancers/audience.  If you love percussion...holy friggin crap.

Okay I know that was way over the top.  You could probably dismiss it, but geez, what an emotional piece of work.
