Hi All,

I'd like to introduce myself to all the other Red Wine Audio enthusiasts out there, how are you doing?

I'm operating an audio/video retail/on-line operation in Toronto, Canada and have been blessed with the opportunity to be Vinnie's first authorized Canadian dealer. His Signature amplifiers and iMod blew me away from the first listening session (thanks, Arriz!) and I simply had to assist in getting the word out.

It's a pleasure working with Vinnie and we're looking forward to helping build an awareness of the Red Wine Audio brand name and the sublime musical qualities his products bring to the table.

  • A republic, if you can keep it.
Neil:

Congrads on having Vinnie's line at your shop  :thumb:.
Should I ever move up north (which I always consider), it's
nice to know there's now a place where I'd feel comfortable.

I don't want to sound mean and I hope my comment will be taken objectively but to many consumers this is not a good news!  I personally sure hope that this doesn't mean an increase in prices based on all sorts of "funny" reasons like we always get from retail shops in Canada (exchange rate, transportation, duties, distributor markup,...).  A lot of audio consumers in Canada are really fed up with the retail industry (including distributors) and one thing we loved about RedWineAudio was to be able to deal directly with the manufacturer.  In our open world, specially in North America, the retail industry really has to come up with value add if they want to keep their consumers.  It is very easy, and many times much more rewarding, to deal directly with the US company then having to deal with an intermediate.

As I said, take this comment for what it is, if it helps you make sure to find a way to satisfy the Canadian consumer market, then great.  Good luck.

Hi nonoise,

You are more than welcome to drop in and have a listen anytime you're in the Toronto area.
I've sold many big name power amps from a number of well known brands and quite simply Vinnie's amplifiers are the most musical AND robust amplifiers I have encountered to date under $10K.  It was a no-brainer!
Happy listening!

Hi loftprojection,

A valid concern...but not to worry!  Please take a look at my website and I believe your concerns should be alleviated.

Having spent the last six years selling high end audio in a traditional retail environment I have witnessed the radical changes that have impacted our industry and have taken note.

The pricing on ALL our products has always been US$ MSRP not the previously out of whack Canadian MSRP.  My suppliers and the manufacturers they represent are now on the program so Off The Grid Audio can also offer US$ MSRP LESS the US/CDN$exchange rate.

A Canadian consumer can purchase a Red Wine Audio product( or any of our products), pay no duty, minimal to no shipping and get the benefit of the daily US/CDN$ exchange! There is no downside and Vinnie is still readily accessible to all us Canadians via this forum.

The ability to demo, favourable pricing and the expertise and knowledge Off The Grid Audio brings to the table hopefully will provide the value we all seek in this wonderful hobby of ours!

I appreciate your comments and words of encouragement.

I like this Neil:  "We are offering DAILY US$ PRICE PARITY on ALL our products.  We will match the previous day's closing rate on the CDN$".  Your business model seems well suited for the new market environment we are in now, maybe others in Canada will learn from your model but I doubt it because they are stuck in the "distributor/retailer" relationship and everybody wants big markups.  Well, in a sense that's good for you!  :thumb:

If it works, I would hope AU distributors could learn from Neil's example! :thumb:

(PS. I mean in general, nothing to do with RWA, I have no idea if they even have dist in AU.. thx)

All,

I'm very excited to have Neil representing Red Wine Audio products in the Toronto area!  Off-The-Grid-Audio is my first Canadian dealer, and I am confident Neil will be very successful!  OTGA will allow potential customers in the Toronto area to see and listen to our new products, and his sales model here makes sense to me and hopefully to others:

Thank you all for the positive feedback!

Obviously Off The Grid Audio is in business to make money but at the same time as an audiophile I have encountered the same pricing and availability issues associated with being a Canadian consumer as have a majority of my fellow Canadian audiophiles.

We want to make the hobby all about enjoyment and fulfillment not frustration and second guessing.

Again, the recognition of my business model is much appreciated and I am looking forward to working with Vinnie and all the audio enthusiasts that allow this endeavor to be so fulfilling.

Thank you.

Neil
