Mac Palladium 3 feet - as new - SOLD
« on: 8 Nov 2007, 03:18 pm »
Hi,

SOLD - Thanks

I have two pairs of very lightly used (10-15 hours of use) MAC Palladium cables. I am the first owner and purchased it directly from MAC.
Asking $159 for each pair of MAC Palladium IC.
As part of New York Audio Society meeting at my place. I had two very expensive cables in my system and then I swapped them for the Palladium - everyone (about 10 people) became silent - everyone heard the positive difference. In short this cable made the system sound more analog, smooth and very musical.I am changing my entire system to CRL, hence selling these cables.

Please call me if you have questions 917-747-5984.Thanks Sunil.

Wanted to say thanks to Saisunil for selling me one of his Mac Palladium cables.   I'm a fan of the Mac Palladiums as I have two in my system.  I have Merlin speakers and because they use a bass augmentation module (the BAM), I need to use three ICs (yes, its a pain).  Trying out  new preamp, I decided to use the Bam in the tape loop and then needed a fourth IC.  Its insane I know.  I'd been using a Luminous Audio IC I had on hand, but decided to get another Mac Palladium for consistency.  The Luminous cable is no slouch and before the Palladium arrived I was starting to regret spending the money on it as the Luminous was doing fine job.  In fact, I started to think cables weren't that important anyhow and maybe I should sell all of them and just use the cheap brand I have stored in the basement.  But, then the Palladium arrived.  I can't ever remember having a cable arrive and feeling so unexcited about trying it out.  I had forgotten all about the first time I tried one of the Palladium cables and how "wowed" I was by its quality.  I took my Luminous out and put the Mac cable in and there it was, that "wow".  They remind me very much of a good silver cable, just very smooth.  They also have great deep bass and a midrange that is both smooth and life like vivid.   I really had forgotten how cables do make a difference and I forgot how good these Palladiums can sound in comparison to other cables.  Its so easy to get complacent and get used to the sound of one's system and forget that how it can sound in comparison to other components.  I realize that cables are very system and taste dependent and that the Palladiums may not work or impress everyone, but I'm as I listen to the Mac Palladiums, I'm a little surprised they aren't that well known or popular.  Its only my opinion, but I think they are a great value at Saisunil's asking price.  I have no connection to Saisunil other than buying a cable from him.   I have no connection to Mac other than being a fan of their Palladium cables.    Really, I have nothing to gain by writing any of this other than sharing a good find.  The Mac Palladiums are a good find, particularly in the used price range and I do hope others who try them find them as enjoyable as I have.

Hi hartwerger,

Thanks for your comments. I think it may be lack of marketing or the fact that MAC has reduced its prices (too bad I bought them at higher price)

I am glad you like them.
Like you, I am also going for consistency in my system. I am slowly changing my entire system to TRL - Tube research Labs  or Transistor Research Labs - end to end.

Cheers
Sunil.
