Hey, they were talking about me,,,, I'm ahead of the curve and I'm not mourning the inevitable demise of CD's anymore than I was the LP's.  It's a new day,,,, the day of the mp3 (or whatever codec you're using). WMP9 VBR Q90 codec myself, 2833 albums on 3 hard drives strong It's a new day baby!  :thumb:

Thanks for the link Chris. I missed the show on TV.

Did anyone click on the MTV video from 1993 in the right corner on the same page? Fremer was prominantly debating digital vs analogue, as was Neil Young and Peter Gabriel. Good company Mikey!

Enjoy,
Bob

Did anyone notice they never said the type of digital that was used for the test? If it was the full bite-rate master recording I'm not surprised they couldn't pick which was analog and which was digital, espcially if the analog simulation processing was applied.

A better test would be comparing the analog to 16/44 redbook and 128 or even 192 .mp3. Although I doubt the results would sway any of the hard-core proponents of either format.

I mean, no matter how "great" something is, the entrenched are not easily displaced.

Storage is so cheap, I don't see the need for lossy encoding.

I have no issue with killing the CD. Just give me the ability to download lossless versions of the files.

By the way, the girls in that segment are...well, wow!
