300B SET - you want great warmth and body then this is the ticket.
WOW! This amp sounds awesome. BUT my wife hijacked the higher efficency speakers I planed to use with this for the den (because they looked better in that room and don't take up as much space).
This is an incredible sounding amp from a fairly well respected builder. If you look around Audioasylum you can find several recommendations for him. I bought this directly from him as he was getting out of the amp building game.
I've even had this on my maggie 3.6s and it was incredible (but I didn't push hard since my ribbons aren't fused). It sounds great with Ed's Horns. It also sounded great with my wife's GR AV-3. However they got moved to the game room and in there because of the fairly high background noise at times it just doesn't have enough juice. For critical listening it was great, but once a couple of people are in there playing with something it can't get loud enough for good background music. It probably is a sin to waste 300B tube life on background music anyway

If the maggies were magically 10-20dB more sensitive then I'd probably keep these and sell my Dodd 120 monos which has blown all other amps I've heard away (but they aren't so my Dodd's AREN'T for sale
). Even without the right speakers I've been stalling on selling this, but my wife wants new countertops and asked me to sell of some of my "extra" gear.
