No cash.     At least I have new speakers coming!

This was absolutely The Piece I Should Not Have Sold - awesome.  These things are simultaneously punchy, powerful, and beguiling.  All the positive press was deserved.

Couldn't agree more. Now you are causing me to 2nd think my for sale posting,... hope I don't regret it!  I've been shopping around for the past 3 months trying to find a tube amp in the $6-750 range, that I really would like, so that I could afford to hang on to the AMP1 also. Finally gave up to buy a used KR audio.

I wouldn't sell it, at least until you have something better in your house that you definitely prefer.  Selling something really good in hopes of finding a better replacement is often a mistake.  We are a "grass is always greener" bunch, but oftentimes it is not.

How do these Amp-1's compare to Vinnie's Sig 30?  Miklorsmith, haven't you had both?

Yeah, they're really different.  How about SET vs. PP?  The Sigs are also spectacular but mellower, smoother and more refined.  The AMP-1 is ballsier with a bigger jump factor, more obviously dynamic.

Depending on the rest of the system and preferences, I could see either being preferable.  I've made significant changes to my rig since I owned the AMP-1 but I have no problem with big dynamics so I don't need that function from the amp.  I feel the Signatures are better for my system.

I still wish I had the AMP-1.
