John Blaines Memorial Service
« on: 29 Oct 2007, 06:37 pm »
Johns service was at Christchurch Cathedral on Saturday Morning. It was a fitting testament and celebration of Johns life. Several of Johns close friends got up and spoke about how John had impacted their lives and how important he was to them. Joes Fiance sang and Darwin Apple finished off the service by playing Ave Marie. Listening to everyone talk about John and how important he was to them truly drove home how much of a loss his passing is.
Gassers in attendace were myself , Scott, Brian, Steve and Adrian.
At the gathering after the service we had a chance to chat with Joe and Joe Senior. They are interested in becoming more involved with us as a group. We also met Bill from Webster Records who wants to join us.

It was a really nice service. We all owe it to ourselves to get down to Christ Church Cathedral to head that pipe organ in concert. There were several of John's friends there who expressed interest in the group and we were fortunate to meet Keith Herron also who might be a possibility at the Christmas party. Excellent!

Sorry Joe , I can't make this one. Work occasionally gets in the way. My thoughts will be with you.

I'm sorry, but it's the same for me as well. I'll be out of town for the interment. I also thought that the memorial service was very fitting. Many things were said about John that captured the essence of his life. I still can't believe that he's gone.
