4 sale- Spectron Musician III SE (New In Box)

Hi Gang,
I order two of these for bi-amping my SP's Revelation just before the RMAF listening session. But After Bob Smith upgrade the crossover network I don't think I need the second amp. The result from just one stereo version is simply stunning. You can see the comments from people who attended my listening session under SP's forum.
Here are the amps that I had used for the past 5 years:
Atma-Sphere MA-2 II, Ampzilla 2000, Parasound JC-1, McCoramck DNA-500, Belles 150A Ref Monoblock, Belles 350A Ref Monoblocks.
Although the amps above are good performer in their own way but the Spectron Musician III SE simply has better synergy with the Revelation III. And the best of it, it runs cooooooooool. :thumb: This is not your typical class D amp.
Check their web site for more info; http://www.spectronav.com
The unit will come with full warranty. Interested parties please email for more info.

Steve,

What is the list and your asking price?

Sorry I didn't make it over while I was out in Denver.

Sorry for not listing the asking price. Manufactory put a restricted price for the dealer who is selling on line. PM me or leave your number so I can contact you.
PS: No one is paying retail these days

May I say it is one heck of an amp...Been enjoying mine for almost a year now and nothing comes close...Sweet and detailed...Hopefully I will never have to sell it...The company is tops, Toni and John are great people and very helpful...Just my 2 cents... aa

Has it really been out that long?  :o  Wow... I have to get out more.

Regardless, you're right.... it is very sweet and detailed, far more so than I'd expected.

SP Techs are extremely neutral speakers, and if the source material - to include the ancillary components - don't provide it, it won't be heard from the speakers.  What I heard with this amp and a pair of SP Technology Revelations was nothing short of incredible.

All that is to say you did well, Gvt.  :thumb:

I don't think it's a year, 5-6 month maybe. Spectron show the Musician III at the 2007 CES but not the Signature version http://www.spectronav.com/shows.htm. You can see that from their web site. Simon from Spectron can varify that. Those who own the III version can send it back for upgrade to SE version for about $1295.

This is the Signature version correct? If it would help you out any I believe the MSRP on them is $6500 IIRC. Man I have been up and down about getting one of those amps! Wonder what it would do with a set of LS-9's?? :o

Hi John,
Yes, it's Signature version. The preformance of this amp is simply stunning in my 25 years of audio experience. :thumb: IMHO

My Musician III was upgraded to the Sig III about 6-7 months ago...Amp came back with letter stating such...As stated, Spectron is tops to deal with...Break in was a bit long but well worth the wait... I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this amp... :green:

Quite a lot, I suppose, but not as nearly as much as with a pair of SP Technology Revelations IMHO.

Ask around from those who heard both in Denver.  I seriously doubt opinions will vary.  :D

George is right, they're a lot more, but apples to oranges?

Nah... not so much.  You're looking to use the amp with LS-9s, and I'm looking to use it (or maybe two of 'em, eventually) with a pair of Revelations.  That's all.

Until the Revs arrive, I'd be using it with a pair of Timepiece 2.1s that cost less than the LS-6s.  That better?

Nah, not yet.

Truth is, I'm in no hurry.  Bob has a tremendous backlog due to AWOL cabinet makers, delayed parts deliveries and the RMAF, so even if I were to pick something today, I wouldn't see 'em for a quite a while.

Bob's stressing enough right now.  I think I'll lay off for a bit rather than add to his workload.

After all, it isn't as though I'm doing without a pair of Bob's speakers.

I'm sure Steve appreciates all the OT bumps we've made for this thread, but we should probably allow it to return to topic now.

In that vein, now isn't a particularly good time for me to do it, but I'm a hair's breadth away from pulling the trigger.  It was spectacular with the Revelations, and after doing a little research and light reading, the acclaim it's getting is really over the top.... cult-like, even.  I don't need anyone else to help me formulate my opinion of the amp, but it's nice to know I'm not alone.  In fact, Signature Edition acceptance is such that it's back-ordered to the tune of 3 months.

My Butlers are world-class amps IMHO, and aside from not having the ability to drive virtually anything ( 110W/Ch into 8 Ohms, 4 Ohms minimum vs. the Spectron's 600W/Ch @ 8 Ohms, stable to 0.1 Ohm :o ), I'd have no problem putting it up against any amp extant.

Even so, all that power... delivered so sweetly... decisions, decisions.  :banghead:
