RCA versus AES/EBU output on HAG USB?
« on: 22 Oct 2007, 07:51 pm »
Is there any difference other than the connector?

I can use either input.

Can the "RCA" board be used for AES/EBU?

Does the AES/EBU version add electronic compnents to the PCB?

Which one do you use?

THANKS,

Rick McInnis

The difference is the output connector and impedance.  RCA = 75 ohms, XLR = 110 ohms.  The data is identical for each.  I use the RCA version.  IMHO, the XLR has no advantage whatsoever, I only make it for those who have DACs lacking the 75 ohm input.
