Pass Labs X-150 & Classe CA201...
« on: 19 Oct 2007, 12:23 pm »
I'm considering these two amps for my system. They will be driving a pair of AAD 2001 monitors (86db/8ohm) & paired with a CJ PV14LS2 preamp. Any 1st hand experience with either of these amps? Thoughts & opinions greatly appreciated.

Not quite relevant to your system, though.

I have tried both amps with Meridian 596 CD/DVD player, Densen preamp, Magnepan speakers and MIT wiring. In this combination I preferred the Classe. I liked its full-bodied warm sound. The x150 sounded cooler, brighter and thinner.

But I like the combination of PassLabs and Martin Logans.

Tony, I hear ya! That's one smokin deal alright. Someone's going to get one hell of an amp for a steal.

But what would I do with my Krell

I suspect the Krell wouldn't last too long on the open market...  :thumb:
