Tempest Blues

I've recently installed a Tempest into my system, and am having a couple of issues that I'm hoping someone can help with.

1.  I'm using a Shure V15 IV, and have my turntable plugged into the MM input.  I cannot get rid of the ground hum, no matter what I do.  I even tried hooking up another turntable, just to see if the problem was with my turntable, and the 2nd turntable also hummed when hooked to the Temptest.  I've grounded the turntable to the green colored grounding post on the back of the unit, and that connection seems good and secure.  I've even looked under the hood, and the grounding connection looked secure.

2.  There may be a mismatch with my amp and the Tempest: a PS Audio Trio 100.   The 100 seems to also hum when connected to the Tempest.  I tried another amp with the Tempest, and this amp did not hum (unless of course I switched to the phono input!).   I'm wondering if the gain on the 100 is too high for the Tempest?

I'd be grateful for any thoughts on these 2 issues.

Thanks!
