Just thought that I would post that Wylie High School of Abilene TX has signed up to join the speaker building competition :D, and  I may have news of two more high schools early next week.  Although I have made clear that they need to budget for some expenses, donations from A.C. members, interested professionals, and several DIY'ers  continue to make this project work.  The list of contributors is getting pretty long -BradJudy, Danny, HAL, Gordy, PaulH, ApexJR., RAW, and others that have sent stuff to Danny that I have overlooked- and to the latest- Lou Corragio from over on the Parts Express board has donated drivers and crossover parts. And I can't overlook Gary Dodd.  Two more kids start amp projects next Tues. :D  Thanks to all.  We continue to move toward my goal of a hundred high school physics students getting involved in high fidelity.

If you have drivers, caps, inductors, or even a nice piece of leftover veneer from projects that you didn't get around to, leftovers after upgrades, or even an extra $20 bill waiting to go to a good cause, this is it.  Jump in and help get a kid excited about science and high fidelity. :thumb:

Mr. Clark,

I have a Creek OMB -10 (a remote controlled passive pre-amp) and a couple of other items that might help.
Should I send some cash to Danny or to you?

Would you be interested in a Metroplex physics class joining in?

EDS,
Thanks very much for the offer.  We will be able to use the preamp later this year, and cash anytime!  We have set up a tax exempt corp. for student research projects called the West Texas Science Center. Please make checks out to the same.  Please ship stuff to:
Jim Ned High School
Box 9
Tuscola, TX 79562

As to Metroplex schools joining in, we would love to have them.  We should have a Clio system available for Abilene area kids to use that the DFW kids would not have access to, but maybe someone in the N.TX circle may have measuring equipment.  They would have to travel to Abilene in May for the final judging, but we would love to have them.  Have anyone interested contact me at Jim Ned High School 325 554 7755.

Regards,
S Clark

You sir, are the man!

I have your shipping info. saved.

I'll run what I know past my son's physics teacher to see if his class might be able to participate.

EDS,
Any word from the metroplex high school?  Even if they don't get involved, you are more than welcome to build a set with your son and bring them to Abilene this spring. The only proviso is that the key decisions about the design have to come from the student.
