Burson Audio Discrete Opamp/ Need opinions
« on: 11 Oct 2007, 05:40 pm »
Hello,

I am about to replace the opamp 627s in my CD player (DAC part) with a pair of single Bursonaudio Discrete Opamps which are the best sonic for CD player or external DAC based on their website.

Anyone who has had experiences about the Bursonaudio Discrete Opamps which are quite expensive too please let me know your opinion and/or suggestion. I would appreciate your time and effort. Thanks.

Best regards,
Tan

I have a Burson buffer. I now use it to buffer the subwoofer cables I run from the Promitheus TVC's other outputs. Burson op amps are very clean and dynamic. If looking for warm and rounded sound look else where. I think there's a thread some where on AC about them from other members.

Yes, they work and they work well. I'm using a Buffer between my CDP and my amp.

Having read a few other opinions, I was slightly concerned that the result could be "clinical" but I agree with GHM that the sound is clean and dynamic. It's not so much a matter of adding detail as of removing a veil so there is not only more to the finer edgy stuff but more to the body of the sound too.

In a bang for buck sense I've found changing input/output caps [only on my amp so far] to be the best value for money [if you can rate things this way  :)]
