I too thought the composition was imaginative and interesting. That was my failed attempt at being humorous.

So how do the D•500 sound?

Same as the D•200 but more power?
Or do they have their own differences/refinements in the sound quality?

D•500 sounds similar to D•200, but with a "bigger" sound and more sense of ease.
We've been working on this project on and off for about 2 years and I'm extremely pleased with the results

What is the power consumption on idle? Full power?

It will be offered in 32 and 38dB gain (you need more gain to achieve higher power output with a standard 2v source).

I haven't measured the final version as of yet, but about 24w at idle and around 550w at 500w output.

Yes, because there is much more heatsink area in relation to the energy being dissipated.

We have a delay...waiting on the custom transformers and packaging/shipping cartons.
Probably still another 5-6 weeks before we start shipping
Everything else is ready to go.

We've had some delays but shouldn't be too much longer. I'll post here when they are ready to ship.

Just out of interest. What speakers are used in the RMAF demo setup?

If I remember correctly, we were using Von Schweikert VR-4SR MKII last year.
This year we plan to use D-500 MKII's powering LS-6's from AV123 (designed by Danny Richie of GR Research). D-500 MKII's will start shipping around the time of the show.
