**SOLD** Wadia 830 CDP w/GNSC Reference Mods
« on: 9 Oct 2007, 07:43 pm »
Black Wadia 830 CD player with Reference Mods from Steve Huntley @ Great Northern Sound. Excellent condition from a smoke-free, pet-free environment. Be sure to check out the Wadia 830 rave reviews at Stereophile and Soundstage.

The GNSC Ref Mods take this quality CDP to the next level -- far more analog-like with voices and instruments presented against a blacker background with depth, definition and dynamics to die for.

Includes original box, manual, remote and GNSC Ref Mod certificate.

Price: now $1895 (note: The Wadia 830 was $3295 new and the GNSC Ref mods on the Wadia 830 were $1500)
Buyer covers paypal and shipping.

See AudioXsell ad for pictures.

Thanks!

bump - price now $1895.

Here are the specific GNSC mods...

1) significantly improved power supplies via...
-- use of larger, premium quality Black Gate and Nichicon filter caps,
  -- removal of all ferrite,
-- install of patented "Ayre Conditioners" & Bybee "Quantum Purifier" noise reduction,
-- high-speed rectification and other power supply refinements to improve the speed and noise level
2) analog section reworked to include better filtering and removal of "CE" devices in the output section
3) removed current limiting resistors
4) upgraded critical analog filter components
5) installed unique output isolation devices for blocking RF and noise at RCA outputs
6) fully damped chassis & main circuit board
7) transport mechanism damped and better isolated
8) several other proprietary tweaks
