I am looking for a new amp, and I am very interested in the Odyssey Stratos. At the moment I am using a integrated amp, the Xindak 6950. Before that i used a Hegel P2a/H2a combo. I now want to go back to separates, and want to start with the poweramp. My speakers are the Vienna acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand(what a name

If your budget allows, I would give serious consideration to purchasing a pair of Mono Extremes from Klaus. If the budget is tight, perhaps you still should give Klaus a shout and see if he's got any B-stock Monos or returns - that'll stretch the $$.
I've previously owned a Stratos w/cap upgrade, then changed over to the Mono Extremes. My only regret is that I did not first purchase the Mono Extremes. I found the Monos provided significantly better detail, instrument and voice separation, control, soundstaging, oomph, heck, overall better sounding on every level, IMO. This is as it should be, given the cost of the Mono Extremes v. the cap-upgraded Stratos. The Stratos is no slouch and is a fine piece of gear; however, the Mono Extremes are in another class, to my ears. YMMV.
