Can't say I'm a huge fan of her or her music. I know a few people that really like her stuff, but I really don't care for it, at all. Every time I hear that rehab song with the "...no, no, no..." chorus I feel like drilling a ceramic drill bit through my inner ear.My favorite female artist right now would have to be Kaki King.
I don't get the draw...looks or soundwise....just not my thang I guess.
I listen to the old standards alot but when it comes to high quality sound, todays recording methods simply blows away the past.

Are you an acoustic guitarist, fingerstyle maybe? That's about the only people who seem to know who she is.A couple of her mentors/influences worth checking out, Preston Reed and Don Ross. Groovemasters with Laurence Juber is a great disc.

Save for a few exceptional older recordings, I totally agree that modern days recordings are simply way better than yesteryear's.Cheers
I should clarify that my impressions of her was by seeing her perform on London Live and the Glastonbury Music Festival, that is...on TV...HDTV. I don't have her album...yet.So I had the whole visionary and audio thing going...she is quite a performer.
