This is a mint condition demo that has roughly 4 hours on it total. Buy it for less than wholesale and score big on a multichannel amplifier that is used in Mastering studios across the country. Great for Bi-amp or Tri-amping a 2 channel system, or rock the home theater. 400W RMS x 6 channels at 8ohm with all 6 driven at full power. More headroom than anything we know that will mount into your 19" rack.

here is the link.

Hello Mike,

Welcome to AC.  On the manual, I read one instance of running in "class A" mode but nothing else about the amp topology.  Is it an A, AB or a switcher?

Thanks for the welcome...

The Amp runs in Class A to 15W, then its AB after that. Bipolar outputs and linear power supply.

Thanks

Is the included 10 gauge PC a Silver Signature HC cable?

The cord is a 10GA Silver/teflon power cord, but it is not the Silver Signature. This one uses the same type wire, although the build is slightly different in that the 3 conductors are under one outer jacket instead of braided, and the wall plug end is Standard Wattgate not the Gold plated version.  Still a very hefty high quality power cord.. not an off the shelf molded plug type..

Thanks

Mike

Sounds like a good deal.  I know I will eventually upgrade my Outlaw 7 channel amp but I will have to upgrade the whole HT room.  I am curious why you chose 6 channel.  Why not 5 or 7 which are more conventional HT formats?

Based on the labels on the faceplate, the 6th channel is "LFE" for a sub.

The amp is based on stereo boards that can be bridged. Therefore the choices were to go to an 8 channel which we cant really fit in one chassis with that power supply, so you add a 2 channel amp if you have a 7.1 system . The studios used it for 5.1 with the LFE as the 6th channel "sub" like Early said.. Most of us home users bridge the center/sub board for more power to the center channel.  Because of its configuration with bridgeable stereo boards, this amplifier is extremely versatile. One of our dealers is dropping ARCAM and Lexicon amplifiers after hearing this amp.. he'll keep the Lex pre/pro's and the ARCAM players, but he was flabbergasted at the performance of this amp. Its not the first time ! LOL !
Hopefully someone on the boards will pick this one up and do a little writeup for the other users here. I have not been on the forums at all yet with this amp.. I really can't think of anything that would perform like this amp for the price..

Hi,

Is there a 2 channel version of this amp available? Or can you just buy each channel and power supply?

No. It actually is a 3 speed, meaning off, low, and high. It does not usually even turn on at full listening levels with efficient speakers. If you have 4 ohm speakers or lower efficiency the fans will turn on and be silent.. Only if you have your ear to the back of the amp and the fan is on high will you hear the rushing of air. You would never hear it across the room, or if it was mounted in a flush wall rack even if it was on high and nothing was playing... It actually draws air through the sides of the faceplate and out the rear slots in the heatsink for max cooling efficiency.
